Hair Envy

So i've had enough of the frizz, the heat damage and the worrying speed at which my hair seems to be falling out. My hair was once a bouncing vision of healthiness, but not anymore. I'm beginning to see the long term effects of using straightening irons for the past 11 years and not looking after my hair properly, and it's time for a hair make-over! Presently i'm galavanting around Thailand for work and so it isn't highly practical to start a new regime when the air is full of unforgiving humidity, and the only way i can wear my hair without looking like a yeti is to scrape it into a bun, but i can certainly make a plan and maximize on the lack of straightening i'll be doing here.

Here are some pics (the gorgeous Rosie in this month's ELLE and some Valerie Van Der Graaf) to inspire me and to get me motivated - when i get back to the US i will look into protein and thickening treatments, shine products, have a new cut and perhaps some new colour and we'll see how i get on. I may even try some diet changes... i will post my progress and the products i test and all you faithful followers can hopefully learn with me as i search for the best methods to give my hair a much needed boost of life.

The epic journey...

So Josh and I are presently in India, heading to Thailand. We came to India from the Edinburgh International Film Festival where a film Josh and I made was premiered as part of a NOKIA and Vimeo competition. We had such a nightmare getting from Edinburgh to India but we're here now and spent today filming the team that are working here in Kolkata with HIV sufferers and street kids. We're looking forward to heading to Thailand tomorrow... i'll keep you updated :-)

Americano

So i haven't been posting for AGES... i've been working really hard and haven't really had a moment... but i thought i'd upload some pics i found of some American flag prints that i kinda love...

So here is my first attempt at a fishtail braid... you can't really see it very well but it looked awesome! I had just gotten up, so my face wasn't ready for camera exposure quite yet.... i also love this nail polish in pastel aqua blue.

The pin board is the only wall decoration in my kitchen at the moment, but i love having pictures of my friends and family to gaze at while i cook.... it also features a Tube map and Topshop postcard - representing how much i miss London!

Glam Wham

Here are some gorgeous pics that are inspiring me at the moment - some photography by amazing fashion photographer Guy Aroch, some stuff from Russian Vogue and a pic of Olivia Palermo's cool braid. I love the embroidered denim dress in the last photo and the red velvet dress in the second.... yum.
